How this ranking is scored
This ranking scores published service facts only. Public star ratings are shown and do not change the order, because a live Google rating was not read for every company on the verification date.
Data last verified: October 8, 2026
What a stranded driver is scoring
- Pricing transparency is 20%. A stranded driver needs a number, or a clear statement that there is no public number, before a truck rolls.
- 24/7 availability is 20%, up from the draft 15%. A dead battery is an emergency, including overnight.
- Jump-start specialization is 15%, down from the draft 20%. A dedicated battery service is worth more than a tow company that also jumps cars, and it is not worth enough to outrank a proven 24/7 company by itself.
- Phoenix Metro coverage is 15%. The page is about the Valley, so a company that only names one side of town scores lower.
- Public reputation is 15%. Only a rating retrieved outside the company's own site is scored. A missing rating is unknown, not a bad rating.
- Ease of requesting service is 10%. A published phone with no membership gate scores highest.
- Business-information transparency is 5%. Name, address, phone, and a consistent website are the check.
Published weights
Reputation is 15% of the full model. It is removed for this edition, and the other weights keep their original shares of what remains.

| Jump-start specialization | 17.6% |
| Pricing transparency | 23.5% |
| 24/7 availability | 23.5% |
| Phoenix Metro coverage | 17.6% |
| Ease of requesting service | 11.8% |
| Business information | 5.9% |
What stays unknown
A missing price stays “not publicly listed.” A company-reported star count is not treated as a verified rating. The ~25 minute response claim on RoadsideHelpPro’s site is not scored. Dollar amount is not a weight: a published $50 and a published $125 can tie on pricing transparency. Lowest price has its own page.
Published order
- RoadsideHelpPro — 97.1
- Freeway Towing — 89.4
- AE Recovery — 85.6
- The Roadside Helper — 73.5
- Dugger's — 71.5
- AAA — 67.6
- EZ3 — 62.6
If the retrieved ratings were weighted
One place index lists Freeway Towing at 4.7 from 1,061 reviews. That figure was not read live from Google on October 8, 2026, and the reviews are for the towing business. If it were weighted, and every company without an independent rating stayed at the unknown prior, the order would be:
- Freeway Towing — 89.9
- RoadsideHelpPro — 88.5
- AE Recovery — 78.8
- The Roadside Helper — 68.5
- Dugger's — 67
- AAA — 63.5
- EZ3 — 59.3
That alternate order is not the published ranking. Review points go into the score after a live Google read exists for every company on the same day.
